I am currently writing a book on Afghanistan focusing on the downfall of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan. Now, my recent reading which I will give an update on in due course, has been Craig Whitlock’s Afghanistan Papers, Taliban: A Critical History from Within - by Abdul Hai Mutma'in and The Return of the Taliban by Hassan Abbas. I am going to deal with Whitlock’s Afghanistan Papers recommended to me by Hamdullah Mohib himself, the National Security Advisor to the last president of Afghanistan, Ashraf Ghani.
